the freshly leaked dragonball movie clip is unintentionally hilarious.

Posted in clip, wtf on March 11th, 2009

as you may know there’s a dragonball movie coming out this summer. let me just say I grew up with the original manga series and you can count me among the group of moviegoers who’ll conveniently miss this in the theaters.

I came across this clip today and wanted to share it with you.

what the fuck? why is that old dude using the crane kick? seriously?? it didn’t work against chozen in karate kid part 2, why the fuck would it work against piccolo (who evidently can crush a house with a dramatic hand gesture)??

in somewhat related news, jaden smith will not do the crane kick in the karate kid remake produced by his dad.

fuckin’ optimus prime can’t even tear this shit off.

how I stumbled upon comadre.

I went to a friend’s birthday drinks thing this weekend and we got into a conversation about our mutual admiration of refused, namely the best song ever written.

we were chatting tonight and I poked over to youtube to watch the sweet video for the song (above), and that was when I discovered a list of bands that covered it. crazy town? uh, I’ll pass. the used? no thanks. but… who is this comadre?

(keep an eye on the dude in the hat and grey t-shirt on the left of the screen - he goes ABSOLUTELY BALLISTIC on air guitar at 3:10)

of the bands covering the song I felt they came the closest in their energy and intent, so I went over to their myspace page and listened to their original songs.

sigh… I’m such a sucker for the lo-fi screamo/hardcore. and with song titles like “hey, holmes, slow down” “the hole in the ship, s.o.s.” “are you guys telling jokes? i like jokes!” and “well damn, if we all ate the berries together we might as well die together” how can you go wrong?
