last saturday I got norma jean’s debut cd bless the martyr and kiss the child (released ‘02) and that is all I have been listening to since. it’s that good.

I dunno how it happens, but I tend to latch onto a band right before they have a new release out (and before you say it, no, I did not see any advertisements for their upcoming album that triggered an earlier album purchase) as these guys have a new one due late september.

caught brothers of the head last night. VERY good stuff, even if I did get a little motion sick from the hand-held shots. it’s not just “hey look it’s conjoined twins in a band” — the story goes much deeper than that. and the soundtrack is fantastic.

it’s been a pretty good summer for films, no? the ticket stubs I randomly find in my pants pockets is proof. just to name a few I’m talking about a scanner darkly, little miss sunshine, and the oh in ohio.

and just before the oh in ohio came on I caught the trailer for michel gondry’s new thing the science of sleep. you REALLY should watch the trailer ESPECIALLY if you like eternal sunshine.
