so as the world eagerly awaits for the legion of doom’s expert mashup full-length, the best we can do is check out what’s available on their site for downloading…

…except for the taking back sunday vs senses fail mashup track “I know what you buried last summer,” which was taken down because the TBS kids didn’t want it there. which is too bad, because it’s easily the best of the bunch (thanks to lesley’s much-better-than-mine p2p software).

senses fail’s “buried a lie” and taking back sunday’s “you’re so last summer” intertwine SO perfectly it’s almost like those two songs were birthed by “I know what you buried last summer” and not the other way around. and we’re not just talking instrumentally, but there’s one point in the song that has the verse of one backing up a verse from the other.

it is just so good.

so here’s to hoping their full length is going to be just as good. I’m especially antsy to hear thrice vs alkaline trio, armor for sleep vs hopesfall, and definitely the my chemical romance vs a static lullaby ones.

how often do you come out of movies and think to yourself, “I think I was just severely ripped off by hollywood just now”? if that thought has ever crossed your mind, or even if it hasn’t for some unknown reason, do yourself a favor and make murderball your next outing.

fuck hollywood special effects, this is a documentary about the quadriplegic rugby league. you will come out of that theatre saying “wow.” seriously.

2012

so london got the summer olympics for 2012. I was all for anyone getting it except nyc, really. there are all the traffic and environmental concerns had it come here right smack in the summertime… but, I mean, come on, as a new yorker it doesn’t take much to know this city has serious problems and there’s no way it can take on something like the olympics.

nevermind the completely unnecessary west side stadium, nevermind the contiuing rebuilding process downtown. where would all this money come from, and where is it when we have shitty public schools, rookie cops getting their salaries slashed to 15K/year, firehouses getting closed down, and a subway system that is allegedly losing money and having to raise fares (when they’re millions in surplus)?

AND THEN bloomberg has the fucking nerve to say “we have let down america”?

man, fuck YOU.
YOU have let down new york.
