the world has turned and left me a bag of double stuff oreos

Posted in gross, yay, yum, on April 26th, 2005

two sweet hook-ups from today:

(a) my boss got us a bag of double-stuff oreos for no apparent reason. on a positive note, I found my limit on how many I can eat before I reach the Vomit Limit.

(b) a co-worker somehow had the new weezer album that’s due to come out in mid-may. I got that shit on my iTunes now and it’s going alright so far. there are some songs on there that totally take you back to the blue album, and there are some that totally take you down some weird alley in a shady part of town that you’d like to forget. forget the new hit they got playing on the radio (beverly hills?). speaking of, is it me does that song totally remind you of steve miller’s the joker?

scary kids’ album preview: week 3

Posted in yay, on April 26th, 2005

so it’s tuesday, so what does this mean? new song on the scary kidspurevolume site. this week’s song is called the world as we know it and, fucking hell, these kids are unreal.

I wonder if these songs are posted in the actual sequence on the album or done something like best songs first? because if this keeps up it’s going to be one HELL of an album.

An Adventurer is You!

so I’m totally hooked on kingdom of loathing. it really speaks to my d&d nerd past combined with hilarious minimalist humor.

it’s almost like this shit was MADE for me.

good thing you’re limited to how much you can play in a day. I’d do nothing else if it wasn’t (well, except to play with hayley).

fuck yeah: we adopted a dag

Posted in awesome, yay on April 25th, 2005

ever see snatch? I fucking love the way the pikeys say dog.

Mickey: Good dags. You like dags?
Tommy: Dags?
Mickey: What?
Mrs. O’Neil: Yea dags.
Mickey: Dags. You like dags?
Tommy: Oh dogs. Sure I like dags. I like caravans more.

anyway, lesley and I adopted this awesome little dag on saturday. we believe her to be a chihuahua + pug + beagle mix. the shelter had named her hayley and we’re gonna keep calling her as such. no need to confuse her, you know?

I’ll just have you know this much: we fucking love this little girl to death but I will not become one of those people who post pet photos online. man I hate those fuckers.

man, don’t

so I’ve been seeing this poster for a new movie coming out that has orlando bloom in some armor getup (what? orlando bloom starring in a period piece? what?) with this NASTY ass beard hanging onto his face.

what in gods name?

man, that just doesn’t look right.

the real world: the vatican

Posted in query, tv on April 20th, 2005

so how come there wasn’t a realty show based on the proceedings in rome to pick the new pope? think of all the juicy backstabbing and confessional booth diary videos could have taken place! all subtitled, of course.

scary kids’ album preview: week 2

Posted in review, yay, on April 19th, 2005

so I peeped the second installment of the scary kids‘ album preview on their purevolume page. man, I freakin LOVE the guitar shreddin’ a-la 80’s metal. they know the way into a dude’s heart.

one teeny tiny downside: they have the words “oh my god” in the lyrics, which has been a huge pet peeve of mine ever since I heard this one small towns burn a little slower song (which they have since removed from their purevolume page). speaking of, you need to check out the new song they just posted there called “Answers.” having been keeping tabs on these guys over the past however long, I’m really excited about how good they’ve gotten and where they’re headed.

hey it’s finally yay

see which store in your area is participating and get a move on. oh, and by the way, the end of the line is THAT way, toots.

matt bonner of the toronto raptors was interviewed in regards to vince carter’s return to toronto since he was traded to new jersey in a much publicized (bitter) trade. this is what he had to say:

“Uh, yeah, I mean, it’s tough to say, woulda, shoulda, coulda, ifs and buts like candy and nuts, you know, you never know. This, that and the other thing. Who knows? You know, there’s a lot of what-ifs. You know, my whole life is a lot of what-ifs.”

this is just awesome.
